Pavēles un lūgumi netiešajā runā

B2 · Augstāks par vidējoNetiešā runa

„Sit down!“ he said. → He told me to sit down. Bez that un bez „lai“ teikuma.

Ko tu iemācīsies

  • Pavēles un lūgumi: tell/ask + cilvēks + nenoteiksme ar to, bez that un bez „lai“ teikuma
  • Noliegumā: tell/ask + cilvēks + not to + darbības vārda pamatforma (nevis don't)
  • Tell/order – norādījumiem un pavēlēm; ask/request – pieklājīgiem lūgumiem
  • Pieklājīgus jautājumus, piemēram, „Could you…?“, atstāsta kā lūgumu ar ask, nevis kā jautājumu

Kā atstāstīt pavēli

Pavēles teikumu („Sit down!“) vai pieklājīgu lūgumu („Could you help me?“) atstāsta pavisam citādi nekā apgalvojumu vai jautājumu: nevis ar that palīgteikumu, bet ar tell/ask + cilvēks, kuram teica, + nenoteiksme ar to.

Latviski parasti lieto „lai“ teikumu: „Viņš man teica, lai es apsēstos“, „Viņa lūdza, lai es palīdzētu“. Ja to tulko vārdu pa vārdam, iznāk „He told me that I sit down“ vai „She asked me that I help her“. Angliski vajag nenoteiksmi: „He told me to sit down.“, „She asked me to help her.“ Labā ziņa: latviski ir arī līdzīga konstrukcija – „Viņš lika man apsēsties“, „Viņa lūdza man palīdzēt“. Tieši tā ir angļu shēma, tikai angliski nenoteiksmei vajag to.

Uzmanies ar „teikt“: pavēlē ar cilvēku angliski lieto tell, nevis say. Aiz say cilvēks tieši nestāv (nevis „said me“). Neformālā angļu valodā dzird arī „He said to sit down“ (bez cilvēka), bet pavēlēm parasts ir tell + cilvēks + to.

Ievēro vietniekvārdus: your bieži kļūst par my („Finish your homework!“ → „He told me to finish my homework“), bet me – par her („Could you help me?“ → „She asked me to help her“). Ar vietām ir tāpat: ja atstāsti vēlāk un citur, „Wait here.“ kļūst par „He told me to wait there.“

""Sit down!" he said. → He told me to sit down."
""Could you help me?" she said. → She asked me to help her."

Nolieguma pavēles netiešajā runā

Ja pavēle ir nolieguma formā, not liek tieši pirms nenoteiksmes ar to: not to touch, not to shout. Oriģināla don't pazūd, bet to paliek.

Latviski noliegums ir pašā darbības vārdā: „Viņa teica, lai es to neaiztiktu“ vai „Viņa lika man to neaiztikt“. Angliski nekopē ne „lai“, ne don't: „She told me not to touch that.“ Neliec not arī pie ievadošā darbības vārda: „She didn't tell me to touch that“ nozīmē ko citu („Viņa man neteica, lai es to aiztiktu“). Variantu „to not touch“ dzird sarunvalodā, bet standarta forma ir not to.

""Don't touch that!" → She told me not to touch that."
""Please don't shout." → She asked me not to shout."

Lūgt = ask + cilvēks + to („She asked me to close the window“); jautāt = ask + if vai jautājuma vārds („She asked me if I was cold“). Bez cilvēka nozīme mainās: „He asked to close the door“ nozīmē, ka viņš lūdza atļauju pats aizvērt durvis.

She wanted me to wait“ (nevis „wanted that I wait“).

"A boss shouting "Get out!" → He ordered me to get out."
"A polite "Could you close the window?" → She asked me to close the window."

Angļu valoda ikdienā

"He told us to turn off the lights before leaving."
"She asked me not to wait for her."
"The officer ordered them to stop."
"He asked her to pass the salt."

Uzmanību

✗He told me that I sit down.
✓He told me to sit down.

Nekopē latviešu „lai“ teikumu („teica, lai es apsēstos“). Pavēlēm: tell/ask + cilvēks + nenoteiksme ar to.

✗He said me to sit down.
✓He told me to sit down.

„Viņš man teica“ pavēlē ir told me, nevis said me. Aiz say cilvēks nekad tieši nestāv.

✗She told him don't be late.
✓She told him not to be late.

Netiešajā runā oriģināla don't pazūd: lieto not to + darbības vārda pamatforma.

✗She told me not touch that.
✓She told me not to touch that.

Latviski noliegums ir vienā vārdā („neaiztikt“), bet angliski not neaizstāj to: not to + pamatforma.

✗She wanted that I wait.
✓She wanted me to wait.

„Viņa gribēja, lai es pagaidītu“ angliski ir bez that: want + cilvēks + nenoteiksme ar to.

✗She asked me help her.
✓She asked me to help her.

Lieto tell/ask + cilvēks + nenoteiksme ar to: „He told me to sit down.“, „She asked me to help her.“ Teikumi „He told me that I sit down“ vai „She asked me that I help her“ ir nepareizi. („He told me that I should sit down“ ir gramatiski pareizs, bet izklausās vairāk pēc padoma nekā pēc pavēles.) Vieglāk ir domāt latviešu „lika man apsēsties“ – tā ir angļu shēma.

„Viņš man teica…“: latviski „teikt“ lieto ar datīvu („man“, „viņam“)

Aiz say cilvēks tieši stāvēt nevar: „He said me to sit down“ ir nepareizi. Pavēlēm ar cilvēku lieto tell: „He told me to sit down.“ Ar say pirms cilvēka vajag prievārdu to („He said to me…“), bet pavēlēm dabiski ir told me to.

Lūgt: ask + cilvēks + nenoteiksme ar to („She asked me to help her“). Jautāt: ask + if/what/where („She asked me where I lived“). „Could you…?“ patiesībā ir lūgums, tāpēc to atstāsta ar ask + to, nevis kā jautājumu.

„Es gribu, lai tu pagaidītu“, „Viņa gribēja, lai es piezvanītu“: arī ar „gribēt“ lieto „lai“ teikumu

Want darbojas kā tell un ask: want + cilvēks + nenoteiksme ar to. „She wanted me to wait.“, nevis „She wanted that I wait.“

💡 „Viņš man teica, lai es apsēstos“ → He told me to sit down: ne that, ne „lai“ teikums.

💡 „Viņa teica, lai es negaidītu“ → She told me not to wait: not to, nekad don't.

💡 Lūgt = ask + cilvēks + to; jautāt = ask + if/wh-.

Situācija no dzīves: skolotājas norādījumi

"What did the teacher say?"

"She told us to finish the reading by Friday and asked us not to forget our notebooks."

"Anything else?"

"Yeah, she asked me to remind everyone about the test."
